The role of the safety officer is to interface between the German national rail company Deutsche Bahn AG, construction companies and safety technicians with regard to engineering works on rail lines. The main responsibility of the safety officer is to eliminate risk in rail operations. To this end, the safety officer plans the necessary safety measures in coordination with the rail office responsible, and trains the safety technicians reporting to him, as well as staff members of construction companies in these safety measures. The safety officer also has a monitoring role to ensure that all concerned strictly observe these safety precautions. |
